New Zealand Chinese Culture & Arts Exchange Centre (NACCAEC) were founded in June 2017. We are aiming to develop, expand and promote the culture and arts exchanges between New Zealand and China. We became a NZ registered charitable trust in February 2018.

Our chairwoman Fen(Fiona) Li has been actively participated in arts & culture events and activities for the past ten years. She is a well-known soprano singer residing in Auckland and actively performs in concerts and shows. She is the president and art director of New Zealand Huaxing Arts Troupe and also the president and music director of Auckland Chinese Philharmonic Choir. Fiona graduated from Xi’an Conservatory of Music in Bachelor of Arts (Music performance) degree before she migrated to New Zealand fifteen years ago. She has obtained various singing prizes across China. In 2004, she was granted for the “Top Ten Singers” nationwide. After coming to New Zealand, she gained a Master degree in Singing Performance from The University of Auckland, and now she is the only Chinese female singer contracting with New Zealand Opera. She has performed in several famous operas including Madama Butterfly, Turandot, La Traviata, Candide, Elixir of Love, The Flying Dutchman and others. Fiona was successively invited to be the judge of the international Chinese singing competitions. In 2017, she was invited to perform the finale song on the Global Chinese Music Concert held by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. Fiona believes that arts has no boundaries, she appreciates songs from all genres and languages, and she also thinks that arts should be readily available to everybody regardless of their age, gender and ethnic groups. She enjoyed working with people who share the same passion, and she is going to continue devoting her life to promote Chinese and New Zealand culture and arts.

Our trustee Bin Wang is a dancer and choreographer. Prior to his arriving to New Zealand, he was a dancer in Chinese Lanzhou Theatre Company for six years, and later became a musical theatre dancer in Japanese Shiki Theatre Company to perform Cats and Wicked for another five years. He completed his Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts (Contemporary Dance) from Unitec and has worked with many local and international dancers and choreographers ever since. He has performed in Italian Opera ‘The Juniper Passion’ and has worked with Maori choreographer Moss Patterson to participate in contemporary dance ‘AWA’ during the Auckland Arts Festival 2017.  He has portrayed as the leading role ‘Gu Cheng’ in Chinese Play ‘A Poet’ at The Pumphouse Theatre, he was also the choreographer for the play. From his diverse professional dancing careers, Bin appreciates all kinds of dance types, and understand that information and education of Chinese traditional and folk dances are not readily available across many places in New Zealand. Bin eagers to offer his professional skills and knowledge to the local communities.
